Scope and Content

Records of the Pontypridd Burial Board, consists of: one photograph of board members, 1921.

Administrative / Biographical History

The Pontypridd Burial Board (Glamorgan) appears to have been created between 1895 and 1906. The Glyntaff Burial Board (originally set up c. 1871) appears to have obtained an Act of Parliament to extend its boundaries to include parts of Llantwit Fardre, Llanwonno (or Llanwynno), Llantrisant, Llanfabon and Eglwysilan (covering most of the area of Pontypridd Urban District) and to be renamed the Pontypridd Burial Board. The Burial Board appears still to have existed in 1926, but was subsequently taken over by Pontypridd Urban District Council.
