Maps produced for the 1971 Census of Distribution by the Business Statistics Office.

These maps were produced for the Census of Distribution taken in 1971 by the Business Statistics Office (functioning as one of the Common Services of the Departments of Industry and trade) at Newport. They are large scale maps of town centres showing location of business premises with names and trades of occupiers. Two copies of each map were produced; one still in administrative use at the Business Statistics Office will eventually be preserved at the Public Records Office, the other has been offered to local record offices.
