Administrative / Biographical History

Neath County School (Neath Intermediate and Technical School) opened in September 1896. It was originally designed as a dual school with separate departments for boys and girls. In 1928 the girls department moved into their own premises. By 1947, the school became a grammar school. Neath Grammar School for Boys closed in 1973 following the ending of Grammar School education in the Neath area. It then became Dwr-y-Felin Comprehensive School. The school was housed on Dwr-y-Felin Road the site of the present day Dwr-y-Felin Comprehensive School.
