The pocket book of Evan Evans, who variously describes himself as of Llanina, 1794, and of Castlehowel, 1797, and as printer, bookbinder, schoolmaster, scholar, florist and valentine maker, 1796. The book contains hymn-tunes, the music and English words of 'La Carmagnole', verses beginning 'All un swyn roi ffrwyn ar Ffraingc', 'englynion i ofyn ffon gelynen hynod ar lun T gan y Parchedig Josiah Rhys, 1790', 'Marwnad i'r Degymeu', 'Ychydig eiriau ar farwolaeth Jane Davies o Gastell-Hywel yn y flwyddyn 1794', 'Darogan Myrddin', and lines on the death of Charles Evans, Gwernan; an account of a prophet seen by many gentlemen in England but only by the Reverend William Edwards and Thomas George, 'Llanrhwst', in Wales; valentines, and miscellaneous songs and notes.
