This is the first of three sections of accounts and broadly covers the records that relate to coal sales to customers. Within this category there is a further subdivision into seven sections corresponding with the types of records that survive namely accounts ledgers recording sales, coal merchants day books and cash books, coal collection accounts, a price book and depot accounts.
