Frank Herrmann Collection

Archive created by Frank Herrmann documenting the creation and publication of the books in 'The Giant Alexander' series. The collection includes draft material for all the books in the series; correspondence, including letters from publishers and letters from fans; material relating to a musical adaptation and film of the book 'The Giant Alexander'; three pieces of original artwork by George Him; and copies of the published books.

Created by Frank Herrmann during the course of his career as a writer.

Material is arranged into 5 series as follows:

At the time of deposit, all the material was sorted into files and, as far as possible, this original system of filing has been maintained. In some cases it has been necessary to split the contents of large files for ease of access and description, but where this has been done it is recorded at file level.

Accessible to all researchers, by appointment only.

The collection has been appraised and duplicate material removed.

All of the material in this collection was donated to Seven Stories by the creator in 2010, except for the three pieces of original artwork by George Him which have been deposited on loan with Seven Stories.
