Recorded interviews with people working and living in the South Wales Coalfield area, most of whom were not directly involved in the coal mining industry. They include interviews with a school teacher, a political and a social activist, a Chest Disease Physician, factory workers, miners, a soldier and a First World War resister, recalling their everyday lives and careers in South Wales. The recordings were made 1979-1982 but cover the period 1880-1982 (c) in subject matter.
