Administrative / Biographical History
The Drury Trust Co Ltd was a property holding company based at 57 West Regent Street, Glasgow, Scotland, and was a subsidiary of Maclachlans Ltd, Edinburgh, Scotland. In 1923 the business, under directors Robert Macfarlan, a chartered accountant, and James Craig Gatheral, a writer with a company named Wright Johnston & McKenzie, became a limited liability company. In 1924 the major shareholders were Robert Macfarlan, James Craig Gatheral, William Johnstone, and Norman McLeod. James Craig Gatheral died in 1925, and Robert Macfarlan died in 1962. The company went into voluntary liquidation on 11 August 1965, and the company books and papers were handed over by the liquidator to J & R Tennent Ltd, Glasgow.
