Farm account book giving information on weekly accounts, staff employed and work done on mainly unidentified farms adjacent to Newton Stewart, Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland, including Crows and Old Hall farms, 1808-1812.

The burgh of Newton Stewart, Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland was established in 1677 by a charter of King Charles II. The parish lies in the former county of Wigtownshire and by 1790 had a population of 900. In the late 18th century the town became a centre for the textile industry but this rapidly fell into decline. Local produce, including wool, was exported from a small harbour at Carty just below the town and a monthly cattle market was held in the town.
