Correspondence between David J MacDonald, the Duke of Atholl and others discussing conferences, meetings and plans relating to post-war employment. Refers to ex-servicemen apprenticeships, small local industries, particularly in rural areas, and the Lord Roberts workshop.

David J MacDonald founded the engineering company, DJ MacDonald in 1892, initially at works in Dens Road, moving after three years to South Saint Roque's Works.
