Includes newspaper cuttings from Pall Mall Gazette concerning the Pearce case. The Pearce case concerns William Pearce, a partner in John Elder & Co, who was denounced and publically assaulted by a Mr Francis for seducing his daughter. Mrs Elder was implicated in helping to start the defamation campaign, however she told Mr Francis, who originally approached her for support, that she would not become involved.
