Custodial History
It was discovered in the depositor's attic. His grandfather - called Walkingshaw - had been a part of a family of retail businessman in Dundee and Invergowrie (calling themselves linen drapers) in shops in Whitehall and the Nethergate. However the item predates the grandfather. It is possible that previous generations were also involved in the retail trade but the contents of the book suggest that it was probably not related to retail business. However the item requires a proper examination by a historian to be sure of this.
