Carmarthenshire Community Council records, [c. 1945]-1978, mainly minute books relating to various councils and societies, 1948-1974, including Carmarthenshire Association of Parish Councils Executive Committee minute books, 1948-1969; Carmarthenshire Community Council finance and general purposes committee minute books, 1949-1968; Carmarthenshire Local History Society minute book, 1951-1957; Carmarthenshire Old People's Welfare Committee minute book, 1951-1963; receipts and payment books, 1956-1964; annual reports, 1950-1975; and Carmarthenshire Association of Local Councils, Executive Committee Minute book, 1969-1978.

The pages of the Carmarthenshire Community Council, Local History minute book, 1957-1972, are loose, but some attempt has been made to stick them into the volume with sellotape.

Carmarthenshire Community Council acted as a forum for parish councils in the county. It appointed a part-time charities review officer in 1966 to enquire into the state of charities in the county. The committee was re-named Dyfed Rural Council in 1974.
