DECLARATION by William Hugh Humphreys, 3 Erw Fair Terrace, Bangor stating that he knew both Owen Jones and his wife Mary of Erw Fair Terrace and that they were married on the 12th of November 1852. He states that they had two sons and a daughter and that Owen Jones died on the 28th if July 1882 leaving his wife and three children surviving. The eldest son, William sailed from Newcastle upon Tyne as master in command of a vessel called Haverdale of Aberystwyth on the 22nd of October 1882 but neither he nor the vessel or any of the crew have been heard from since and the vessel has been posted up at Lloyds as having been lost. It is supposed that he must have been drowned leaving the said brother Owen Thomas Jones surviving and he said that William Jones was a bachelor and died intestate.XM13632/7
