In late 1972, the Architect's Department inaugurated a programme of microfilming plans and drawings for ease of reference and storage. After microfilming and indexing, the plans are destroyed but periodic transfers were made to Flintshire Record Office of those original plans which it is considered desirable to keep for permanent preservation. The majority are elevations and block plans.
