Administrative / Biographical History

Elizabeth Stewart Mitchell (nee Swan) was born in 1946 and educated at King's Park Secondary School in Glasgow. She trained at Jordanhill College of Education from 1964-1967, completing the Primary Diploma (also known as Chapter III) course. After qualifying, she taught in primary schools from 1967-1980 before taking a break of 15 years to raise her family. Mrs Mitchell returned to the profession in 1995, initially as a supply teacher, and retired from teaching in 2012.
