Administrative / Biographical History

Lionel Dingle was originally from Cornwall. He worked for the Cornish drilling firm Holman Brothers, and became their representative in Cardiff. His wife was born and bred in Cardiff. Mr Dingle's work meant that he scaled many of the larger chimney stacks in Cardiff, from where he took aerial shots of the city. He was also an active member of the Home Guard during the Second World War.
