Papers of the South Wales Electricity Board (SWEB).

The South Wales Electricity Board (SWEB) was formed in 1948 under the Electricity Act 1947, which brought about the nationalisation and merger of local authority and private electricity companies. SWEB was responsible for the purchase of electricity from the electricity generator and the distribution and sale of electricity to customers. The company was privatised in 1989 as South Wales Electricity (SWALEC).
