Appraisal Information

Imelda Morgan, his sister, collected and annotated three files, comprising personal and family papers, 1970-2014 (no. 16), poems, articles, letters and notes, 1980-2014 (no. 28), and articles, 1992-2007 (no. 35), presumably selected from the rest of the collection before its receipt by NLW. She has also annotated a number of other items.

Custodial History

Christopher John Morgan was born 2 May 1944, the child of J. and Eileen C. Morgan, sometime of Roath Park, Cardiff. He was educated at De La Salle school and St Illtyd's college, Cardiff, and University College, Swansea. He taught at various schools, including Ladycross preparatory school, Sussex, 1965-1967 and 1972-1976, and Marlborough House school, Kent, 1976-1984, and (teacher training placements?) at Plasmarl junior school, Swansea, and Neath grammar school, both 1971, before taking early retirement in 1984 due to ill health. After retirement he was a full-time writer of plays, novels, poems and letters. He died in 2014.
