Records of Carmarthen Rural District Council, Carmarthenshire.

The Local Government Act 1894 established rural district councils. The Rural District Council was responsible for housing, public health and sanitation in the parts of Carmarthen not covered by the Borough Council/ District Council. The council also became responsible for the water supply. The Council was abolished in 1974.
