Administrative / Biographical History
The identity of the artist of these paintings is unknown. The title page of the album in which the paintings appear is entitled 'our silver wedding trip', with the date 1884 and the initials I.M.M. In a different and later hand, the title page has been annotated 'the British Association.' It is not clear what, if any, association there might be with the British Association for the Advancement of Science, which was founded in the 1830s.
