Papers relating to the family of T. C. Simpson, 1854 - [1973], including letters to Captain John Owen from correspondents including his brothers, Richard and Owen, and friends, 1854 - 1884; letters from John Owen to Ellen Jane Parry, 1872 - 1883; letters to the family in Llangefni from relatives in Worcester, Clapham, Australia and America, 1874 - [1885]; other miscellaneous letters, mainly to Sydna and Ellen Jane Parry, 1873 - 1939, and letters and cards congratulating Ellen Jane Parry on singing on the radio programme 'Ein Pentref Ni', 1938; birthday cards and letters to Ellen Jane Parry, [1930s] - 1964; family and other photographs, including T. C. Simpson, [1870s] - [1973]; printed material, including hymn books and programmes, 1868 - 1960; and a Llangefni Eisteddfod medal, 1884.

Sydna Parry (nee Owen) (born [c. 1819] was married to Hugh Parry of Llangefni, Anglesey. The Owen family included her brothers Captain John Owen (fl. 1854-1884), commander of the barques the Charles Sprague, Esther and Peri, Richard Owen of Caernarfon, Caernarfonshire, and Owen S. Owen of Clapham, Surrey. Sydna's son Richard Parry, a blacksmith, spent some time, 1884-[1885], in America; his brother John immigrated to Australia; and their sister Miss Ellen Jane Parry (1864-1965) lived to the age of 100 in Llangefni. Thomas Charles Simpson (1894-1984) was apparently the son of their sister Sarah and Charles Simpson. He was born in Liverpool, but came to Llangefni to live with his grandmother Sydna Parry, his aunt Ellen Jane Parry, and his uncle Richard Parry. He was educated at the Board School, Llangefni, and worked as a hat carrier for Regent House, in Mona Cafe, and then as a postman, [1914]-[1959]. He played a prominent role in local life, as a concert performer, as a member of Llangefni drama and opera company and as a member and elder of Lôn y Felin [Calvinist Methodist] Church, receiving the Gee medal. He published two volumes of memoirs, Cnoc ar y Drws (Caernarfon, 1968) and Ail Gnoc ar y Drws (Cyngor Gwlad Gwynedd, 1979) and died in 1984.
