Scope and Content

Testator devised and bequeathed:. To the cathedral church of St David's and forgotten tithes - 6d.; to the poor of p. St Michaell Combdy - 10s.;. To William Thomas William Powell, testator's nephew of the same p., the site of a house, a garden, an orchard and four closes called Ca Howell Meredith, Ca oddiar y tu llechviricke and Ca bach on condition that he should maintain William Phillip, testator's son during his natural life in the dwelling house with sufficient meat, drink, lodging, fire, dressing, washing and clothing as befits his position;. To Phillip Thomas William, testator's nephew, two closes called Garth yr rydd vawre in p. Tallgarth on condition that He should pay £10 to the following:. Viz. to Maude William John - £5,. To Elizabeth William - £3, both being nieces of the testator, and 40s. to John William John;. Numerous other monetary bequests. Endorsement: note of presentation dated 24 March 1673 to Watkin Beaven a witness on behalf of William Thomas the executor named in the will.
