This school opened on 28 September 1925 as Armthorpe New Village Council School (Mixed Department) in temporary accommodation with 107 children and three teaching staff. From 2 May 1927 the school became solely for junior girls (see SR51/1/1 page 19) until it closed in June 1929 with the girls transferring to the new Senior Mixed and Junior Girls schools.
