Scope and Content

Sunnyside Homes were established at 52 and 54 Hollow Way, Cowley by a deed of trust in 1906. The two properties were divided into 4 'homes' and each property was allocated to an 'inmate' nominated by trustees representing the George Street Congregational Church, Cowley Road Congregational Church, Temple Cowley Congregational Church, and Summertown Congregational Church.

Further rules of the charity are set out in the first seven pages of O189/A1/1, and a short history of the first inmates of the homes and their successors up to 1933 is also provided. Further details of the charity are set out at O189/A2/1.

This collection was deposited in August 1982 as accession 2048 and was catalogued by Hannah Jones in April 2006.
