Records of Ford's Charity, 1826-1968

This collection comprises a gift register of Ford's Charity (1826-1874), together with minute books of the trustees of Ford's Endowed School (1829-1874 and 1943-1967), minute books of the governors of Ford's Charitable Bequest (1877-1968), a minute book of the Dagenham Branch of Ford's School (1908-1943), correspondence and minutes of the Chadwell Heath Branch of Ford's School (1854-1874 and 1908-1934) and a cash book of the treasurer of Ford's School (1899-1926)

By his will proved 1826, William Ford, a farmer, left £1,000 stock to provide clothing for poor members of the Church of England not receiving parish relief in Dagenham.
