Typescripts

Series of typescripts, including drafts of four of Leon Garfield's published works - 'Blewcoat Boy', 'The Golden Shadow', 'Jack Holborn' and 'Mr Corbett's Ghost'; drafts of one unpublished novel, 'Benjamin Blount', and one unpublished short story, 'Laughter in the Dark'; a draft of an unpublished Leon Garfield Memorial Volume of 'Beyond the Boundaries'; a copy of the screenplay for a television drama adaptation of 'Mr Corbett's Ghost'; and a complete set of radio scripts for 'The Wanderer', adapted from 'The Odyssey' by Garfield. The series also includes a 'miscellaneous' file, which contains partial and complete drafts of several talks and short stories by Garfield, as well as some material written by other individuals, including a draft of 'The Boy Who Swallowed a Ghost' by Garfield's wife, Vivien Alcock.

Typescripts are arranged alphabetically by title. All titles given below are those which appeared on Leon Garfield's original files, and no material has been refiled or moved between files.
