Administrative / Biographical History
The correspondence relates to the deposit of emperor penguin specimens collected during the winter journey by Edward Wilson, Henry Bowers and Apsley Cherry-Garrard, British Antarctic Expedition, 1910-1913 (leader Robert Falcon Scott). These specimens were deposited by Cherry-Garrard at the British Museum, (Natural History department) on his return from the Antarctic. Basil Soulsby provided the receipt on behalf of Mr Charles Fagan.
