The Wallich volume includes a list of his books and papers on scientific subjects written between 1858 and 1883 dated 29 December 1884. The envelope contains correspondence between Turner and Thomas Wiltshire (for the Ray Society), and between Turner and Taylor Bros of Leeds, the printers; also a letter from General Sir Henry F. Ponsonby "to express The Queen's regret, that Her Majesty is unable to accept the dedication of the work"

The envelope is addressed to Mr W. B. Turner, 49 Reginald Terrace, Leeds, and postmarked "Leeds, 29 March [18]94".
