Scope and Content

South Banbury parish was created in 1846 and was partly in Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire. It re-united with Banbury St Mary parish in 1967. The records in this collection were originally deposited at the Bodleian Library by the vicar in 1968 and 1969,except PAR23/4/F1/2 which was transferred from Buckinghamshire Record Office in 1979. A conspectus of old and new references is included at the end of the catalogue.
