Palmer, United States Sealing Voyage

This United States sealing voyage was under the general command of Benjamin Pendleton and Nathaniel Brown Palmer. Three vessels sailed from New York and Stonington, the Sepaph captained by Pendleton Annawan captained by Nathaniel Brown Palmer and Penguin captained by Alexander Palmer. Scientists onboard the ships made biological and geological collections.

Alexander Palmer's crew included Phineas Wilcox as Mate, Smith as 2nd Mate and George Elliot as 3rd Mate. This was one of many sealing voyages to the southern oceans made during the nineteenth century.
