Charles Philip Arthur George, born 14 November 1948, eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, was created Prince of Wales and Earl of Chester on 26 July 1958. His investiture, the formal ceremony to mark the creation of the title, took place at Caernarfon Castle on 1 July 1969.
