Scope and Content

This series contains photocopies of papers found loose in C.R. Ashbee's inscribed copy of G.L. Dickinson's 'Savonarola' (1884). It comprises letters to C.R. and Janet Ashbee as well as autograph manuscript poems by Goldsworthy Lowes Dickinson as follows:

1. 1 typed letter, signed, from 'The Times' to C.R. Ashbee enclosing his rejected contribution to F.C. Burkitt's obituary, 14 May 1935.

2. Second typescript of C.R. Ashbee's obituary of F.C. Burkitt, undated.

3. Fly-leaf of 'Savonarola' with C.R. Ashbee's book-plate and inscription, [1884].
