Scope and Content

Included in this group are two account books from Covent Garden theatre (1757-1758) and Drury Lane Theatre (1745); Le Gulistan (or Garden of Roses) by Saadi (1518); an Old Dutch prayer/service book (ca. 1400); a Turkish Inshâ containing correspondence between the French Ambassador and various middle eastern officials (1709-1723); the memoirs of Latude (Prisoner of the Bastille, 1770) and other manuscript volumes collected by George Powell.
