Ruth Collet (nee Candham) began her nursing training at the Whittington Hospital in 1936. She qualified as a midwife at the same hospital in 1943. Collet worked as a district nurse in Norfolk in the early 1950s before qualifying as a health visitor in the late 1950s. She worked as a part time nurse on a private obstetric and gynaecology ward in Norfolk between 1970 and her retirement in 1972. Ruth Collet passed away in 1998.
