Administrative / Biographical History

The practice was founded in 1940 by Thomas Alwyn Lloyd. Alex Gordon joined the firm in 1948 and entered into partnership with Thomas Lloyd the following year forming T. Alwyn Lloyd and Gordon. After Alwyn Lloyd's death in 1960, Gordon established Alex Gordon and Partners with Alun Roberts and David Humphreys. The business expanded with offices in London, Carmarthen and York. The firm became known as Alex Gordon Partnership in 1981. The Partnership undertook a wide variety of projects for government departments, universities, local government and clients in the private and public sector. Alex Gordon remained head of the firm until his retirement in 1982.
