Jennifer Beresford (1928-) was born in 1928 and trained as a social worker. She worked within the Anglican Church in the Diocese of Oxford for a number of years and took part in the 'Ecumenical Decade of Churches in Solidarity with Women' (EDCSW). The EDCSW was an initiative launched by the World Council of Churches in 1988, as a ten year programme, during which time churches would look at their structures, teachings and practices with a commitment to the full participation of women. Beresford also ran assertiveness courses for women and was the author of 'Creating Confidence in Women' (Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge, 1998) ISBN: 0281051461.
