Edward Mobley worked at Morris Motors as a skilled carpenter. At the outbreak of World War Two he was moved to emergency duty with 50 M.U. a unit of civilians acting as a travelling workshop, recovering damaged aircraft for examination and repair. The diary outlines Edward's trips all around the country, the type of aircraft recovered and occasional additional details relating to the crash or what work was done.
