Scope and Content

This sub-fonds consists of records created by the Manchester and Salford district of the Co-operative Women's Guild. These include the records of the branches; Altrincham & Broadheath, Broadheath, Cheadle, Daisy Bank, Eccles, Eccles & Prestwich, New Lane Eccles, Failsworth, Higher Irlam, Hollinwood, Irlam, Knutsford, Middleton, Middleton & Tonge, New Moston, North Manchester, Rusholme, Sale and Weaste. There are also records of the Manchester and Salford Joint District Council. The records include minutes, account books, cashbooks, press cuttings, reports, correspondence, recruitment campaign material, attendance and subscriptions registers, stationery, programmes of events and activities, membership cards and a booklet regarding the superannuation fund.
