Scope and Content

Woodstock is situated 8 miles north west of Oxford. The parish was formerly a chapelry of Bladon and united with Bladon in 1877 to become Woodstock with Bladon. For Bladon records please see PAR35.

The records were originally deposited in the Bodleian Library by Rev JE James, rector of Woodstock and Woodstock Parochial Church Council in 1976, by Rev EGAW Page-Turner in 1979. The material was then transferred to the Oxfordshire Record Office. Additional records were deposited as Acc 1267 in June 1976 and originally catalogued as Misc Woodstock. Further records were deposited by as Acc 2291 in July 1984 and as Acc 6597 in July 2017.

A conspectus of new and old references is included at the end of this catalogue. Catalogued by Alison Smith, December 2008 with additions in May 2009 and January 2018.
