Scope and Content

The Hindle family lived at Bryn Rosa, Abbey Road, Llandudno. The bundle of correspondence relates chiefly to Lucy, Inez and Edith Hindle.

Administrative / Biographical History

James Hindle M.R.C.S retired from his practice and moved with his wife Lucy and family from Askerne Hill, Doncaster to Bryn Rosa, Abbey Road in 1873. The children were Inez, James Edward and Edith. James snr. died in 1893 and his wife in 1901. The two sisters remained at Bryn Rosa until their deaths - Inez in 1931 aged 88 years and Edith aged 103 yrs in 1950. The sisters were devout Christians, heavily involved in charitable works and temperance supporters.
