Licensing Files

Licensing records for the Conwy County Borough area, including for public houses, restaurants, hotels and shops. The licensing records are largely concerned with the sale and consumption of alcohol but the files also include licences for gaming machines. All records have been sampled and only the sample kept except in the case of the 'On' licences and registers. The On licence records are largely complete as received by Conwy Archive Service. However, all record classes (except the registers) include examples of files that have suffered severe water damage before transfer to CAS. In most cases some material was unharmed and has been retained. The water damaged material was destroyed.
