    • 1 text 108 ff Materials : thick cream paper. Dimensions : 224 mm x 165 mm. Foliation : Western and Persian. Ruling : Main text within text boxes of the dimensions 161 mm x 108 mm. Script : Main text in Nasih, with marginalia and graffiti in Nastᵓaliq. Ink : Primarily black ink with rare usage of red ink for illumination or marginalia. Binding : Original maroon morocco binding with stamped cartouches on both boards and the flap. Traces of gold leaf still visible in the cartouches.

Scope and Content

The Kurdish national epic Mam û Zîn, originally composed by Ehmed Xanî. A masnavi poem on themes of love. The manuscript has been foliated to begin from f. 3v, the start of the masnavi. Folios 1r-3r contain couplets and various graffiti in nastaliq, some of them dated from 1225 AH (1810-11 CE), others from 1243 AH (1827-28 CE). Marginalia in various hands occurs throughout the manuscript, in both Kurmanji Kurdish and Persian. Folio 107r (labeled as 105r) contains a brief colophon, as well as a series of 15 seals with the names of individuals written below them. A small ownership seal can also be found on f. 108v. The manuscript was copied in 1221 AH (1806-07 CE) by ᵓabd al-Bāqī bī-Talqīn and sponsored by Arjumand Ibrāhīm Khān.
