Chadlington Highway Board was formed in 1864 to takeover the responsibility of maintaining the highways from the parish vestry. It was abolished in 1894 when the newly formed Chipping Norton Rural District Council (RDC9) took over this responsibility.

The records were deposited as part of Acc 1351 in January 1977 and originally catalogued as H.B. VI. References were given to some items that have never been deposited. Further records were deposited as Acc 3597 in February 1993 and Acc 6166 in April 2013. Recatalogued by Alison Smith in October 2018.
