Scope and Content

Goring Heath School was founded by Henry Allnutt, who died in 1724, to provide an education for 27 boys from Goring, Checkendon and South Stoke. In 1833 the provision was expanded to provide education for 27 girls and an Infants School was established in 1879. In 1894 a new enlarged mixed school was built amalgamating all three schools. The school closed in 1985. Please see CC4/93 for other records of this school.

The records were deposited as Acc 2611 in May 1986 and as part of Acc 4784 in November 2000. Recatalogued by Alison Smith in October 2013 with additions in July 2019.
