Administrative / Biographical History

Lewis Thomas Lewis, esq. was tenant of Cadoxton Lodge, Cadoxton-juxta-Neath parish, Glamorgan. The lodge belonged to the Tennant family who moved into the property in 1823. This house was rented out for extensive periods, including to Richard Hanbury Miers of the Ynyspenllwch estate. Lewis Thomas Lewis (brother of the then Lord Merthyr) was the next tenant, and married the widow (née Penrose) of Richard Hanbury Miers in 1870.
