Administrative / Biographical History

Mount Zion Church, Summerhill, Wrexham, was established in 1851 as an English Calvinistic Methodist chapel, in the civil parish of Gwersyllt. The chapel building was completed in 1853 and rebuilt and modified in 1879, and Welsh Church Commission statistics for 1905 indicate that the number of its 'adherents' was more than double that of other nonconformist chapels in the area at that time.
