Lenton reluctantly outlines her own experiences during her imprisonment in Holloway in 1912, detailing her methods of coughing violently to avoid being forcibly fed. She describes how the doctor diagnosed her with 'double pneumonia and pleurisy due to food getting into the lungs' and how she was not expected to survive.
