Thomas Brothers was established in the late 19th century as a haulier; motorised trade vehicles, including buses, were introduced c. 1914. The bus trade was taken over in 1934 but the company continued to operate a road haulage service and general store from The Garage, Llansteffan, Carmarthenshire. David James Thomas was the proprietor from 1941. He also became an agent to the Eagle Star Insurance Company in 1956. He died c. 1983.
