Carmarthen Soroptimist Club

The name Soroptimist comes from the Latin 'soror' meaning sister, and 'optima' meaning best. The term is perhaps best interpreted as ‘the best for women’.

The first Soroptimist club was founded in Oakland, California, in 1921 and today there are over 3000 clubs operating throughout the world.

Soroptimists strive to achieve ‘the best for women’ in every sphere of their lives.
